SemiQon, based in Espoo, Finland, develops silicon-based quantum processors aimed at making future quantum computers more affordable, scalable, and sustainable. By leveraging their expertise in quantum and microelectronics, SemiQon focuses on creating processors suitable for the million-qubit era, facilitating the advancement of quantum computing technologies. In March 2025, the company secured €17.5 million in financing from the European Innovation Council, accelerating its transition from a startup to a scale-up and expanding its commercialization efforts beyond the quantum industry.
SemiQon is the first company to operate within the laboratory premises of the Finnish National Metrology Institute VTT MIKES. The new facilities support SemiQon’s commitment to advancing world-class measurement expertise and infrastructure for building scalable quantum hardware.
Fully tested silicon-based chips are now shipping to partners for scalable and manufacturable quantum computer projects in the UK, United States, Finland, and Germany.
