Arkema and Morrow have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the development, screening, and testing of novel electrolyte formulations for the next generation of highvoltage batteries. Based on Arkema’s proprietary ultra-pure lithium electrolyte salts and Morrow’s large format batteries based on the cobalt-free high-voltage spinel (LNMO), this partnership will accelerate the development of new generations of batteries.

On this occasion the Group will announce a 50% increase in its Kynar® PVDF fluoropolymer production capacities at its Pierre-Bénite site in order to address the fast-growing demand for materials for lithium-ion batteries. Arkema now aims for sales of at least one billion euros in batteries by 2030.
The SUPERSMART European project funded by EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) and coordinated by Arkema with 10 partners* has won the 2021 Organic Electronics Association competition Award for the Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator. This project advances the emerging technology of paper printed organic electronics to the industrial phase.
