MVTec Highlights Machine Vision Advancements for Semiconductor Quality & Efficiency

This year again, MVTec Software GmbH will present itself as a partner of the semiconductor industry at SEMICON Europa, which takes place from November 18 to 21 in Munich.

The focus of MVTec’s booth in hall 1, booth B1868 is on quality assurance. Specifically, MVTec will demonstrate and explain how its software products HALCON, MERLIC, and the Deep Learning Tool can be used to strengthen quality assurance to increase yield, minimize waste, and boost process speed. “Machine vision is a key technology of modern semiconductor manufacturing. It increases precision and efficiency throughout the entire production process. Application areas range from complete traceability to exact positioning and automated quality inspection across the entire process chain. With our comprehensive range of technologies and solutions, we can support the entire production process, from front-end to back-end”, explains Klaus Schrenker, Business Development Manager at MVTec.

The focus is on quality assurance – more automation & less scrap
MVTec's slogan for SEMICON Europa is: “Machine vision: boost your speed and accuracy in semiconductor manufacturing.” “With our trade fair presence, we want to send out two messages: first, that we are a long-standing and close partner of the semiconductor industry and therefore well aware of the sector’s challenges, especially the demand for high speed and precision. Second, these challenges can be addressed with our software products HALCON, MERLIC, and the Deep Learning Tool,” explains Klaus Schrenker.

Demos at the MVTec booth will illustrate this in practice. The first demo inspects the surface of a structured wafer precisely for defects and contamination. The second demo highlights the wide range of application possibilities covered by the technologies of MVTec’s software products. MVTec experts will be available to interested visitors for discussions and explanations on how machine vision can be applied to their use cases.
