Rutronik Adds Lumberg’s New 4580 01 High-Current Contact Solution

The 4580 01 high-current contact from Lumberg is new to the Rutronik portfolio. It expands the established 45 series and stands out with a combination of high mechanical stability, cost efficiency and compact design. The new three-sided pluggability enables even more versatile integration into modular system architectures. Therefore, the 4580 01 is a particularly flexible solution for reliable power transmission in demanding applications, and is suitable for operating temperatures from -40 °C to +120 °C. Certified according to the stringent LV 215 and VW 80332 standards, it meets all safety and quality requirements, particularly those demanded in high-voltage systems in the automotive industry.

Lumberg has been developing high-quality high-current contacts for over two decades, which are used in millions of control units and mechatronic modules, especially in current electric vehicles and charging components for electric vehicles. Building on this experience, the new 4580 01 type offers a significant enhancement: Unlike the previous types 4580 03 and 4580 04, the 4580 01 allows connection from three directions, significantly increasing the versatility of the component.

The high-current contact can be mounted directly on PBCs using SMT or THT soldering processes, or fixed to busbars using laser welding technology. Its compact design allows it to be used even in high-density electronic systems, while its robust construction ensures a secure electrical connection even under strong vibrations or shocks. With a low contact resistance of less than 1 mΩ and the ability to safely transmit currents of up to 56 A, the 4580 01 ensures efficient and low-loss power transmission even under high performance requirements – making it ideal for use in modern electric vehicles, charging infrastructures or industrial electric motors.
