Vision Components Launches VC EvoCam with MediaTek Genio 510

For embedded vision in industrial automation, smart devices and professional imaging systems, reducing integration complexity while maintaining computing performance is a key design objective. Vision Components is introducing the new VCSBC EvoCam at embedded world 2026, a compact all-in-one board-level camera that integrates image acquisition and Edge AI processing on a 65 × 40 mm platform.

The VC EvoCam combines a configurable image sensor setup with the MediaTek Genio 510 processor, enabling direct image processing without additional computing hardware. The system is designed to simplify design-in for OEMs developing embedded vision systems requiring compact dimensions and industrial-grade robustness.

Vision Components at embedded world: Hall 2, Booth #2-551
Nuremberg, 10–12 March 2026

Integrated image capture and Edge AI processing
The VC EvoCam can be configured either with an onboard image sensor or with one or two cable-connected remote-head cameras. It supports image sensors from the VC MIPI® camera portfolio. The first version presented at embedded world is equipped with the Sony IMX900 sensor featuring 3.2 MP resolution and global shutter technology.

The integrated MediaTek Genio 510 Edge AI processor includes two ARM Cortex-A78 cores, four ARM Cortex-A55 cores, an ARM Mali GPU and a neural processing unit (NPU) delivering up to 3.2 TOPS. The board supports up to 2 GB RAM and 16 GB flash memory, with expansion via SD 3.0. This hardware configuration enables onboard processing of high-resolution image data for AI-based vision tasks.

The VC EvoCam operates with a customized Debian Linux system. Common image processing functions are pre-supported and provided as demo applications, reducing development effort for system integrators.

Board-to-board interface for flexible system integration
For device integration, the VC EvoCam features a 100-pin board-to-board connector providing access to processor and interface signals. Available interfaces include general I/Os, I²C, USB, Ethernet, Video DSI and PCIe.

At the start of volume production in the first half of 2026, a compact interface board will be available with power supply, trigger and flash I/Os, USB and RJ45/LAN connectivity. A more comprehensive interface board will follow as a development and prototyping kit, routing all connector signals to physical interfaces. Vision Components also supports customers with custom interface board development and design-in services.

Expansion of VC MIPI portfolio and 30-year milestone
In addition to the VC EvoCam, Vision Components will present several new developments at embedded world. These include the VC MIPI IMX454 camera module for multispectral imaging, the VC MIPI® Multiview Cam equipped with nine image sensors for multiview and multispectral configurations, and the broader VC MIPI® portfolio of industrial cameras with MIPI CSI-2 interface.

The VC MIPI® Bricks System for plug-and-play vision integration will also be on display. It includes cable options, lens holders and ready-to-use MIPI CSI-2 camera modules designed to streamline system integration.

In 2026, Vision Components marks its 30th anniversary. The company introduced one of the first industrial-grade smart cameras in 1996. With the VC EvoCam, Vision Components extends its portfolio with a compact embedded vision platform combining Edge AI processing, modular sensor configuration and Linux-based programmability for industrial and professional applications.
