Schmalz at productronica 2021: Yellow means safe

At productronica 2021 in Munich, Schmalz will show what handles sensitive electronic components and assembled PCBs gently and safely. Trade visitors will find these and other solutions for vacuum automation in electronics manufacturing in hall B3 at booth 301.

The SCG-HSS adapts itself to the respective surface contour by means of its pin curtain.

For its appearance at productronica 2021 in Munich, J. Schmalz GmbH has many handling solutions for PCB production and PCB assembly in its trade show luggage. From November 16 to 19, the vacuum expert will explain and demonstrate why a flow gripper needs a pin curtain, what protects workpieces from uncontrolled electrostatic discharge and how low-contact handling of assembled PCBs works.

One highlight is the SCG-HSS, a compact flow gripper for handling assembled PCBs. Its pin curtain automatically adapts to the respective surface contour and thus also compensates for larger height differences. Due to the optimised flow, the pressure on the surface remains minimal, even for workpieces with openings and a low degree of occupancy. The user can grip workpieces with different surface structures with the SCG-HSS, thus saving teaching and set-up times.

An alternative for printed circuit boards, drilled PCBs and wafers is the SBS floating suction cup. It is now available in a particularly flat design - ideal for confined installation situations - or with elastomer buffers made of NBR-ESD, which absorb lateral forces well and protect against uncontrolled electrostatic discharge. The vacuum is generated directly in the suction cup according to the Bernoulli principle. This means, on the one hand, that no ejector is necessary and, on the other hand, that there is an air cushion between the suction cup and the workpiece. This protects even thin copper foils from damage and marks during automated handling.
