Rohde & Schwarz brings Oscilloscope Days to the next level with School of Measurement live events across Europe

The Oscilloscope Days educational event at Rohde & Schwarz continues to evolve, combining virtual sessions with a series of in-person events, called the School of Measurement. Starting with a digital kick-off on October 27, 2022, the series is set to last through 2023 with stops at multiple locations across Europe. It will cater to electronics engineers from Europe and beyond. Participation in the seminars is free.

The School of Measurement concept is an enhancement to the Oscilloscope Days seminar event.

Rohde & Schwarz introduces the School of Measurement concept as an enhancement to its established Oscilloscope Days seminar event. Electrical engineers from all backgrounds can learn from Rohde & Schwarz application experts about the essentials of oscilloscopes in hands-on training sessions at a variety of European engineering hubs. While the first School of Measurement will be a live webcast on October 27, 2022, additional sessions will be offered at Rohde & Schwarz locations around Europe and on demand.

The School of Measurement sessions will be presented by technical experts from Rohde & Schwarz and focus on real-world design challenges in power electronics while offering participants an opportunity for hands-on interaction. Power electronics encompasses a wide range of applications, from small power converters in low-power applications to large-scale electric power generation and transmission systems. The School of Measurement concept will introduce participants to the principles of power electronics applications that require a basic to advanced understanding of power conversion systems in modern power-electronics applications as they replace conventional power electronics designs.

Combining theory with practice at the in-person sessions, electronics engineers can use the latest R&S MXO 4 series oscilloscopes from Rohde & Schwarz under everyday testing conditions on actual DUT applications. To address a broad audience across Europe, the sessions will highlight different exercises such as DC/DC and AC/DC conversion, control loops, filter responses, EMI debugging, basic FFT and protocol decoding, component characterization, efficiency measurements and calculation of losses, as well as power and PWM signal analysis.

Dr. Andreas Werner, Vice President Oscilloscopes at Rohde & Schwarz, says: “Oscilloscopes are widely recognized as the main tool every electronics engineer needs on their workbench. Modern power electronics technology continuously challenges electrical engineers to find an instrument with the best performance and efficiency for its size and price. Starting a learning journey in power electronics, fully understanding which oscilloscope features really matter, and simply keeping up with the latest options can be a challenge. That’s why we developed the School of Measurement, our own educational approach supporting electronics engineers as they hone their skill set and make the most of their oscilloscopes.”
