TTI Europe Offers the 600 V E Series Power MOSFET from Vishay in Top-Side Cooling PowerPAK® 8 x 8LR
New compact MOSFET package provides high thermal capacity, current density, and power density.
TTI IP&E - Europe is now stocking Vishay’s fourth-generation 600 V SiHR080N60E E Series power MOSFETs. Available in the new PowerPAK® 8 x 8LR package, the device provides high efficiency and power density for telecom, industrial, and computing applications.
“With customers’ applications demanding more efficiency and power density improvements from smaller devices, we are delighted to support them by offering this new device, which enables higher power ratings and density compared to the D2PAK,” says Markus Walz, Business Development Manager Europe, TTI Inc.
The SiHR080N60E device has the industry’s lowest figure-of-merit (FOM), which results in reduced conduction and switching losses to save energy and increase efficiency. The package also provides a Kelvin connection for improved switching characteristics.
Thanks to its top-side cooling, and extremely low junction-to-case (drain) thermal resistance (Rthjc) of just 0.25°C/W, the device delivers excellent thermal capability, which is 2.25 times better than the D2PAK. The gullwing design further provides excellent temperature cycle capability, passing 1000 cycles.
The SiHR080N60E measures only 10.2 mm x 7.9 mm x 1.6 mm, and the PowerPAK 8 x 8LR package has a 52% smaller footprint than the D2PAK with just 36% of the height, allowing electronics engineers to save space.
Additionally, the PowerPAK 8 x 8LR package delivers 45% higher current than the D2PAK at the same on-resistance level, enabling a significantly higher power rating and power density.
Designed with power factor correction (PFC) and DC/DC converter blocks in mind, the SiHR080N60E is suitable for 3kW power supply solutions in applications including: servers, edge computing, super computers and data storage; UPS; telecom; solar inverters; and motion control, motor drives and battery chargers.
The device is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, and is designed to withstand overvoltage transients in avalanche mode with guaranteed limits through 100% UIS testing.
“At TTI we work closely with our valued partners to provide customers with the very latest electronic components that support all stages of the power conversion process so they can advance their designs,” concludes Markus. “The new MOSFET package is the most recent addition among our wider stock of Vishay products, so customers have access to a broad portfolio of components for all their needs, all from under one roof.”
