Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd is set to showcase its latest innovations in power electronics at PCIM 2025 – the world’s leading exhibition for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management. From May 6th to 8th, 2025 at the Nuremberg Messe, visitors can see Murata’s wide range of solutions firsthand, exploring how they can help to advance electric mobility as well as high-power industrial and medical applications.
Innovative Temperature Sensing for High-Power Applications
Silicon Carbide (SiC) power modules, a key enabler of efficient automotive traction inverters, operate at extreme temperatures, making precise thermal management essential for performance and longevity. To address this requirement, Murata’s FTI-series Molded NTC Thermistors provide highly accurate temperature sensing that enhances the safety and efficiency of next-generation EV powertrains.
Visitors to Murata’s stand can explore how the FTI series’ wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +175°C and innovative resin mold construction delivers the reliability, ease of integration, and high performance that the automotive industry demands. Its unique packaging, featuring bottom-side soldering and top-side wire bonding, simplifies system integration while providing inherent electrical isolation, making it ideal for placement near high-voltage heat sources such as SiC semiconductors.
Advanced Safety Capacitor Technology
At PCIM, Murata will also be exhibiting the new EVA series, one of the latest additions to its wide selection of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). Tailored for applications such as inverters, on-board chargers, and DC-DC converters, these Y2 surface-mount design safety capacitors deliver dependable electrical isolation and stability.
The EVA series boasts industry-leading 10mm creepage distances for its outside bending package variant (inside bending also available), as well as exceptional withstand voltage capabilities of 2000VAC/60s and 4000VDC/60s, as well as 305VAC/1500VDC voltage ratings across the board. This high level of performance combined with the EVA series’ compact, SMD, and broad operating temperature range help engineers to drive system integration and to meet the evolving needs of modern 800V powertrains with confidence.
Enhanced Noise Suppression for Automotive Power Systems
Managing electromagnetic interference (EMI) is essential to ensure the interoperability of onboard electronics. Murata’s automotive noise suppression solutions – including the PLT Series & UCMH Series common mode choke coils (CMCC) and LQH Series wire wound ferrite inductors – minimize unwanted noise across the power circuits which are used in every common applications. These components have already been widely used in 12V systems.
With emerging 48V power systems in automotive system design, Murata can support with an extensive lineup of components that can enhance 48V architecture. The PLT & UCMH Series CMCC and LQH Series wire wound ferrite inductors can be operated under a wide temperature range of -55℃ to 125℃ or 150℃ and their compact packages simplifies system integration, even in space-constrained environments. Together, these technologies play a key role in helping automotive engineers to manage noise across a wide range of applications, e. g. ADAS ECU, vehicle computer, infotainment systems and xEV sub systems. We invite you to explore them at our booth at PCIM 2025. These technologies will be available to explore at the Murata booth during PCIM 2025.
Reinforcing Isolation and Efficiency with the NXJ1T Series
Murata’s NXJ1T Series 1W DC-DC converters provide reinforced isolation, noise immunity, and thermal reliability in a compact, surface-mount package, making them ideal for communication interfaces, analog front-end (AFE) measurement circuits, and other space-constrained applications.
Designed to withstand the harshest environments, the NXJ1T Series features Murata’s proprietary block-coil transformer technology, which delivers class-leading efficiency and ultra-low isolation capacitance. Attendees to Murata’s booth can see how this innovative solution enables reliable operation in applications such as 800V EV battery monitoring as well as medical instrumentation and industrial automation – where high isolation performance is essential for safety and regulatory compliance.
Comprehensive Power Solutions for Diverse Applications
Murata’s diverse portfolio on show at PCIM 2025 extends beyond automotive innovations to include a wide array of power products serving other critical global industries. On display are low-power isolated DC-DC converters ideal for precise gate drive applications, as well as low-power and high-isolation converters that deliver reliable performance in industrial environments.
Furthermore, Murata will feature its cutting-edge Ionizer technology through a water circulation demo, plus power supplies for medical and railway uses, and power-over-ethernet (PoE) modules that meet today’s networking and telecom needs.
