A New Standard for Wideband, Portable RF Analysis
Keysight Technologies has introduced the N99xxD-Series FieldFox Handheld Analyzer, designed to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly evolving radio-frequency landscape. As commercial, defense, space and consumer systems expand across shared spectrum, engineers require tools capable of capturing transient events, identifying interference quickly and analyzing wideband signals without data loss. The new D-Series extends longstanding FieldFox capabilities with performance levels traditionally associated with laboratory instruments.
Gap-Free Wideband Streaming Enables Deeper Field Insight
The FieldFox D-Series delivers 120-MHz gap-free IQ streaming supported by high-speed SFP+ interfaces for 10-gigabit Ethernet transfer. This enables uninterrupted capture of fast-changing signals and ensures that field teams can stream, store and replay wideband datasets with full fidelity. The ability to maintain continuous streaming without dropped frames makes the instrument well suited for interference hunting, spectrum monitoring, satellite link testing and early 6G research.
The analyzer pairs rugged field durability with precision RF performance, offering absolute amplitude accuracy of ±0.1 dB without warm-up. By combining portable form factor with lab-grade measurement quality, the D-Series gives users confidence in high-stakes environments where every captured microsecond matters.
Field-to-Lab Continuity for Real-World Signal Re-Creation
A core focus of the new analyzer is workflow continuity. Engineers can capture real-world RF conditions, then replay and analyze those scenarios in controlled laboratory environments for system debugging, algorithm development and validation. This seamless transfer from field to lab shortens investigation cycles and improves the reliability of deployed communication, radar and sensing systems.
The D-Series supports wideband playback, real-time spectrum analysis and a broad suite of more than 25 software-defined measurement applications. Frequency coverage extends across 14 model variants from 14 GHz up to 54 GHz, making the platform adaptable for everything from telecommunications and satellite testing to defense and electronic warfare analysis.
AI-Enhanced Spectrum Intelligence for Faster Decision-Making
The analyzer integrates with Keysight’s latest spectrum-management software, enabling AI-driven classification of major wireless standards such as LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. By applying machine learning models to wideband captures, users gain faster identification of signal types and clearer insights into congested or contested environments. This reduces time-to-resolution and strengthens real-time decision-making for operations teams managing critical spectrum resources.
A Rugged, Software-Defined Platform Built for Future Needs
The D-Series runs on a secure Linux operating system and incorporates an intuitive touchscreen to streamline field operations. Its software-defined architecture allows users to add new capabilities directly on site, ensuring long-term adaptability as technologies and regulatory requirements evolve.
By combining high bandwidth, robust data streaming, precision RF accuracy and AI-enhanced spectrum intelligence, the FieldFox D-Series represents a major step forward in portable RF instrumentation—offering field engineers the performance headroom needed for emerging 6G, satellite and complex spectrum environments.
