Posifa Expands PLF2000 Series With Ultra-Low-Flow Liquid Sensors

Posifa Technologies has announced new additions to its PLF2000 Series of MEMS liquid flow sensors, expanding the product family with ultra-low-flow calibrated ranges from 0–30 mL/min up to 0–200 mL/min. The new models are designed to support precise liquid dosing and stable closed-loop control in medical, life science, and microfluidic applications.

The expanded lineup provides designers with greater flexibility for compact liquid delivery architectures where accurate microflow measurement is critical to system performance. All new variants offer both analog voltage and digital I²C outputs and deliver linear performance across their specified flow ranges.

Posifa Expands PLF2000 Series With Ultra-Low-Flow Liquid Sensors

MEMS Thermal Flow Technology for Microfluidics

Based on Posifa’s MEMS thermal flow sensing technology, the PLF2000 Series features a straight, unobstructed flow path with no moving parts, enabling fast response and low pressure drop. The sensors offer a typical response time of 100 ms and accuracy of ±10% of reading, helping engineers reduce dosing overshoot, minimize reagent waste, and improve run-to-run repeatability in low-volume fluidic systems.

The devices operate from a 5 V supply, draw a typical operating current of 22 mA, and support operating pressures up to 50 psi, making them suitable for a wide range of compact fluid-handling platforms.

Target Applications
The expanded PLF2000 lineup is intended for applications where stable microflow directly influences process quality and outcomes, including:

  • Lab automation reagent delivery
  • Microfluidics and organ-on-chip perfusion systems
  • Flow cytometry and cell sorting fluidics
  • Benchtop and production bioreactors
  • Rodent infusion pumps for pharmaceutical research
  • Infusion and micro-infusion pumps
  • Analytical instruments such as HPLC systems

Integration and Compliance
For simplified integration, PLF2000 sensors support push-to-connect fittings and are designed for direct contact with water and compatible process liquids. The devices comply with NSF/ANSI 61 (Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects), supporting qualification in applications that require verified materials and long-term reliability.

Samples and production quantities of the new PLF2000 models are available immediately through Posifa Technologies and its authorized distributors.
