HYUNDAI MOBIS Selects Anritsu’s Hybrid eCall Test Solution

Anritsu Corporation has announced that HYUNDAI MOBIS has selected Anritsu’s Hybrid eCall test solution to support the development and verification of Hybrid eCall and Next Generation eCall (NG eCall) automotive emergency call systems.
From 2026, the European Union requires all new vehicle models subject to type approval to be equipped with NG eCall, which operates over 4G (LTE) networks. However, as 4G coverage is not yet fully available in all regions, vehicle manufacturers must continue to support conventional eCall systems based on 2G/3G networks. To address this dual requirement, HYUNDAI MOBIS is developing Hybrid eCall in-vehicle systems that ensure compatibility with both NG eCall and legacy eCall.
Simplifying complex verification environments
Traditionally, validating Hybrid eCall functionality required separate test systems for NG eCall and conventional eCall, along with complex simulation environments to reproduce diverse network conditions. This increased development effort and limited verification efficiency.
To overcome these challenges, HYUNDAI MOBIS adopted Anritsu’s all-in-one test solution, combining the eCall Tester MX703330E with the Signalling Tester MD8475B. The integrated platform enables comprehensive testing of Hybrid eCall, NG eCall and legacy eCall within a single environment.
Advanced features such as seamless handover between 2G, 3G and 4G systems, base-station switching and adjustable cell configurations allow realistic simulation of varying network conditions. As a result, HYUNDAI MOBIS has significantly improved both the reliability and efficiency of its development and verification processes.
By deploying this hybrid test environment, HYUNDAI MOBIS is better positioned to meet evolving regulatory requirements while accelerating the rollout of next-generation emergency call systems.
