Diodes Incorporated has announced the release of the PI2MEQX2505Q, an automotive-compliant 1.8V 2.5Gbps MIPI® D-PHY ReDriver™ designed to optimize signal integrity in automotive camera monitoring systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The PI2MEQX2505Q supports the MIPI D-PHY v1.2 protocol and integrates four differential data lanes plus one clock lane. It regenerates D-PHY signals across challenging channels that include PCB traces, connectors, and cables, compensating for frequency loss to ensure reliable CSI-2/DSI data transmission between source and sink devices.
Supporting higher-resolution automotive vision
With support for data rates up to 2.5Gbps, the new ReDriver addresses the growing bandwidth demands of next-generation automotive cameras with higher pixel counts. This capability differentiates it from many existing retimer solutions and makes it well suited for surround-view systems, driver monitoring, and ADAS sensor architectures.
Configurable signal conditioning
The device offers a high degree of tuning flexibility to optimize system performance and cost:
- Programmable receiver equalization at 3dB, 6dB, or 9dB (at 1250MHz)
- Selectable pre-emphasis levels of 0dB, 1dB, or 3dB
- Adjustable output voltage swing up to 275mV
These parameters can be configured via a local I²C interface or through pin-strap control, enabling engineers to extend PCB trace lengths while minimizing latency, power consumption, and overall system cost.
Optimized for power-sensitive EV platforms
Power efficiency is a key feature for battery electric vehicles. Operating from a 1.8V supply, the PI2MEQX2505Q supports ultra-low-power (ULPS) and low-power (LP) states, with integrated activity detection that automatically transitions the device into reduced-power modes when possible. Typical power figures include:

Compact, automotive-ready packaging
The ReDriver is housed in a W-QFN3555-28/SWP package (3.5mm × 5.5mm), enabling compact layouts and high-density routing in space-constrained automotive designs. The PI2MEQX2505Q is priced at $0.88 in 3,500-piece quantities.
For non-automotive applications, Diodes Incorporated also offers the PI2MEQX2505A (four data lanes) and PI2MEQX2503A (two data lanes) for industrial and commercial use.
