XIRIS ANNOUNCES NEW THERMAL CAMERA SYSTEM FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Xiris Automation Inc. has recently announced the development of the XIR-1800 Thermal Camera System for Additive Manufacturing and critical metal joining processes.

XIRIS ANNOUNCES NEW THERMAL CAMERA SYSTEM FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

The XIR-1800 provides enhanced imaging of key weld zones such as the melt pool, deposited material, and surrounding base material in greater detail than standard thermal or visible-light cameras.

Capturing real-time, thermally calibrated temperature measurements from about 350 to 1800°C, the XIR-1800 will help improve in-process control and quality assurance for fabricators. Often, a key challenge in metal additive and joining processes is to monitor the size and cooling rates of the melt pool of a weld bead. With Xiris’ XIR-1800 thermal camera, manufacturers will be able to capture images and clearly see the melt pool even in harsh environments of smoke, fumes, and spatter.

The XIR-1800 is easy to integrate into existing processes and connects with Xiris’ WeldStudio software suite so that multiple Xiris weld cameras and peripherals such as weld microphones can be used together for data synchronization, capture and analysis in one powerful system.

Xiris Automation Inc. specializes in developing weld equipment used for process and quality control across many specialty industries. With an extensive product line, Xiris provides some of the world’s most dynamic manufacturers with the ability to detect, recognize, and interpret quality defects in their manufactured goods.
