TOSHIBA TO EXHIBIT SOLUTIONS FOR POWER EFFICIENCY, SMART INDUSTRY, AND MOBILITY AT ELECTRONICA 2022
Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH is to exhibit at Electronica 2022, showcasing solutions for a more energy efficient future. Booth C2.359 combines “Passion for Power Solutions” with demonstrations for Ethernet TSN and embedded control.
With a “Passion for Power Solutions” as the unifying theme of the booth, Toshiba’s technical experts will present topical demonstrations and reference models developed for automotive and industrial applications.
Highlights of the exhibition include advanced motor controls for industrial automation including robotics, and power conversion with the latest-generation silicon-carbide semiconductors. The power-conversion designs on display include a high-efficiency 5kW bidirectional DC/DC converter with Dual Active Bridge (DAB) architecture leveraging SiC MOSFET efficiency and ruggedness. In addition to that a smart SMOS powered LED matrix for vehicle lighting and a motor driver based automotive door mirror highlight additional advances in power and control related automotive applications.
Armin Derpmanns, General Manager, Semiconductor Marketing, Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH, said, “Our return to Electronica resonates with our recent major investments in power-semiconductor fabrication and the European High-Voltage Laboratory, which strengthen our ability to deliver advanced solutions for converting, managing, and utilising energy efficient designs.“
Toshiba’s factory automation demonstrations will also include Ethernet TimeSensitive Networking (TSN). The company’s control and communications ICs support the convergence of operational (OT) and information (IT) technology networks with the trend towards increased intelligence at the edge.
In addition, the booth will present the Motor-Control Boards Gallery that contains more than 30 development boards based on Toshiba motor-control ICs, created through collaboration with the embedded specialist, MIKROE. The gallery contains easy-to-use solutions that help jump-start projects with popular motor types including stepping, DC, and brushless motors of various ratings. Toshiba is also supporting the Electronica 2022 conference program. Goran Filimonovic, Chief Engineer at Toshiba Electronics Europe, will review the latest enhancements added to the Ethernet TSN specifications. His presentation on November 16th, at 10am will include practical setups to demonstrate a variety of configurations and compare the opportunities that come with TSN against the capabilities of ordinary Ethernet.
Visitors to Electronica can find Toshiba at stand 359, hall C2. The company’s engineering and sales experts will be available throughout the show to provide further information about the products and solutions available.
