Kontron Web Panel with the high-performance i.MX8M Plus Processor

Kontron, one of the world's leading suppliers of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), is presenting its new Web Panel product line based on the latest processor technology at the SPS 2023 exhibition. The integrated software is based on Kontron’s smart QIWI Toolkit.

Kontron has expanded its HMI portfolio to include high-performance Web Panels based on Arm® NXP i.MX8M Plus processors for device and machine visualization and building automation. The new product line is characterized by its improved overall graphics performance, PoE capabilities, extensive connectivity and the additional 5-inch panel version to complement the 7-, 10.1- and 10.6-inch displays. The attractive case design with optically bonded multi-touch IPS displays has been retained according to the compatibility promise.

They are available with aluminium or stainless-steel frames and are specially designed for use in industrial applications and for ambient temperatures from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. The standard version is perfectly suited for installation in control cabinets and consoles with an IP65 protection class at the front. Thanks to its modular design, easy adaptation to customer-specific requirements is guaranteed. Short delivery times, highest manufacturing quality, competent technical support are guaranteed.

The integrated QIWI Toolkit software package provides users a performance optimized HTML5 browser and offers possibilities for easy configuration and parameterization of the device settings and browser properties. For example, configuring the network, time and language settings and uploading certificates for secure website connections is possible both from the device directly and remotely. In addition, the Toolkit provides a file and package manager as well as an update management system. The layout and size of the virtual keyboard can be adjusted and supports Asian, Arabic and Cyrillic characters. The panels are optionally available with the SpiderControl™ packages Microbrowser or SCADA from iniNet.

The first samples will be available starting in November 2023.
