First MIPI camera with Sony IMX900 image sensor
Vision Components introduces the new VC MIPI IMX900 camera module at the SPIE Photonics West trade fair, 27 January – 1 February, San Francisco.
Vision Components announces the new VC MIPI IMX900 camera module at SPIE Photonics West.It integrates the high resolution 3.2 megapixel Sony IMX900 global shutter image sensor into an ultra-compact, industrialgrade and longterm available design for the first time. With its superior light sensitivity, high dynamic range and wide field of view, the camera module with MIPI CSI-2 interface is ideal for applications in robotics, quality control and for finding and reading barcodes and markers. The VC MIPI IMX900 will be available from first quarter of 2024.
High NIR sensitivity
The IMX900 image sensor in 1/3.1" format has a sensor diagonal of just 5.8 mm. With its advanced Sony Pregius-S technology and a pixel size of only 2.25 µm, it provides an effective resolution of 3.2 megapixels. The VC MIPI IMX900 camera module can be integrated in extremely compact designs. Its large imaging range and the light sensitivity up to near-infrared (NIR) enable the best image quality and reliable data acquisition, even in low light conditions. The high dynamic range of the global shutter sensor also supports the detection of barcodes and markers. For quality assurance applications, the images provide extensive details and information that may remain unseen under visible light.
Also new: VC MIPI IMX585
Vision Components will also present the new VC MIPI IMX585 camera module at Photonics West, which is now available for volume production. It is equipped with the Sony Starvis IMX585 image sensor and offers a resolution of 8.4 megapixels with 4K and HDR support. The embedded camera module with rolling shutter was designed for AI-based applications and other scenarios with highest demands on image quality.
Made in Germany
All VC MIPI camera modules are developed and manufactured by Vision Components in Ettlingen, Germany. They feature high quality, robust and industry-optimized design, and reliable longterm availability. The MIPI camera modules can be connected to all common processor platforms via the MIPI CSI-2 interface. Vision Components provides the corresponding drivers free of charge.
