New USB interface adapter for HART field devices

OPTIBRIDGE 1210 offers three main functions: it can be used to calibrate SMARTPAT process analytical sensors, as a 24 VDC power source and communication interface for 2-wire & 4-wire HART devices, and as a HART modem for 4-wire HART devices.

In the first function, OPTIBRIDGE 1210 offers the possibility of parameterisation or offline calibration of the passive 2-wire sensors of the SMARTPAT series for pH, ORP or conductive conductivity. With OPTIBRIDGE 1210, both can be carried out directly at the measuring point without having to transport the sensors to a laboratory.

When used as a 24 VDC voltage source and communication interface for any 2-wire HART devices, OPTIBRIDGE 1210 enables the field devices to be parameterised, to perform measurements or to maintain them in the field from a PC, laptop or Windows tablet via PACTware and DTM. The USB connection of the PC is sufficient as a voltage source for the OPTIBRIDGE 1210; the voltage is transformed internally from 5 to 24 VDC.

In addition, the OPTIBRIDGE 1210 can be used as a HART modem for any 4-wire HART device. The interface is simply connected using the optional minigrabber terminals without opening the current loop, i.e. no process interruption is necessary. This type of connection can also be used to supply 4-wire devices with a passive 4...20mA output and communicate via HART.

The connection and communication status can be read via the LEDs on the front of the device. A variety of adapter cables in different lengths are available for the OPTIBRIDGE 1210.
