Compact Quartz Crystals Deliver Precision and Power Efficiency for Modern Electronics

Rutronik is expanding the Epson portfolio with the FC1610BN, a 32.768 kHz quartz crystal. Compared to its predecessor, the FC1610AN, the energy-saving component has a lower ESR (equivalent serial resistance) with a package size of only 1.6 mm x 1.0 mm. The component operates reliably in an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +105 °C, is suitable for a wide range of applications, e. g. in IoT devices, MCUs for sub-clocks or wearables.

The components are housed in ceramic SMD packages and metal lid instead of glass lid and impress above all with their low ESR:

  • 45 kΩ typ. (at +25 °C)
  • 60 kΩ max. (at -40 °C to +85 °C)
  • 70 kΩ max. (at -40 °C to +105 °C)

They reliably tolerate operating temperatures from -40 °C to +105 °C and are currently the most power-efficient solution – ideal for ubiquitous applications, including radio modules and MCUs for sub-clocks or FA equipment.

Benefits at a glance:

  • Operating temperature range from -40 °C to +105 °C
  • Small footprint of 1.6 mm x 1.0 mm
  • Frequency range up to 32.768 kHz
  • Very low ESR
  • Ceramic SMD package with metal lid

Some application examples:

  • IoT devices
  • Sleep clocks that require small size and low power consumption
  • MCU and radio modules for sub-clocks
  • Clocks for wearable devices
  • Battery-powered applications
