Schurter Launches Slim 3-Phase Filter with Low Leakage for DIN Rail at Rutronik

Rutronik now offers a new 3-phase filter series for DIN rail mounting, FPAC RAIL from Schurter, in its portfolio. The slim housing, with a width of just 44 mm, requires extremely little space on the mounting rail in the control cabinet. The single-stage filter is available as a standard version or with high attenuation (High Performance: HP). A metal base plate ensures excellent grounding to the rail. The FPAC RAIL series impresses above all with its low leakage current of just 1.3 mA. The new filter series from Schurter is available here.

One challenge in control cabinets for industrial applications in the 3-phase range, e. g. for motor drives or control systems, is the space required for components. The FPAC RAIL series addresses this problem with a completely new filter design. The new single-stage filter series is constructed with a printed circuit board in a plastic housing. It has screw terminals for the three phases and a terminal on the metal base plate for optimum ground connection to the rail.

In the standard version with ferrite cores, the new filters score with very good attenuation characteristics of up to 85 dB, which is already significantly (10-15%) better than comparable alternatives. With the optional HP version by using nanocrystalline cores, the attenuation performance in the frequency range of 10 – 300 kHz can be increased by up to a further 8 dB.4

All 16 variants can be used at temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +100 °C. The filters are designed for currents from 3 A to 32 A at a maximum of 520 VAC, in accordance with IEC and UL standards. They are ENEC and cURus certified and are suitable for applications in accordance with IEC 62368-1.

Benefits at a glance:

  • Slim housing (44 mm wide)
  • Low leakage currents: 1.3 mA
  • Metal base plate for optimum earth connection to the rail
  • Filter variants with standard and high performance
  • Simple snap-on mounting
  • Operating temperature: -40 °C to +100 °C
  • 3 A to 32 A at max. 520 VAC

Application examples:

  • For 3-phase industrial applications in control cabinets
  • Suitable for use in devices according to IEC/UL 62368-1
  • Devices with high EMC loads (switching power supplies, converters, etc.) such as
  • Industrial or machine controls
  • Laboratory technology
  • Telecommunications technology
  • IT devices
