Anritsu Launches Portable 400G Network Tester MT1040A
Versatile Support from Product Inspection to I&M Testing.
Anritsu Corporation starts selling its Network Master Pro MT1040A for 400G networks. As well as supporting 400G Ethernet, this new battery-powered tester with directly mounted QFSP-DD optical modules also has a simultaneously installable 10M-to-100G interface for access, metro, mobile fronthaul/backhaul, and data-center transmission quality tests - BER, throughput, frame loss, and latency measurements. Combined with the easy-to-use GUI, remote-control-over-network option, and auto-test functions, Network Master Pro MT1040A is a tester with unparalleled measurement efficiency.
Anritsu expects its 400G Ethernet MT1040A to help customers achieve widespread roll-out of high-speed networks.
Development Background
The start of commercial 5G services and the spread of cloud computing is leading to large, continuous increases in communications traffic. Moreover, the rapid spread of teleworking and online work is causing challenges for communications operators, who are faced with reinforcing their bandwidth. 400G Ethernet is a key technology in strengthening support for this rising traffic, and there is an urgent need for a portable 400G tester to help in commissioning and maintenance of 400G Ethernet networks. Anritsu previously launched its popular MT1000A tester for communication speeds of up to 100 Gbps for networks and data centers - the new MT1040A, the world's smallest B5-size 400G Ethernet tester, maintains its predecessor's easy usability while adding new functions for even more efficient testing, installation, and maintenance of faster networks up to 400G speeds.
Product Outline
The 400G Network Master Pro MT1040A is a portable tester for evaluating the communications quality of networks operating at speeds from 10 Mbps to 400 Gbps. Always-on Forward Error Correction (FEC) is a key technology for achieving 400G Ethernet speeds. With built-in FEC analysis functions, the MT1040A is the ideal tester for evaluating the communications quality of optical modules, such as QSFP-DD, and the performance of 400G devices. Moreover, simultaneous installation of any of the optional OTDR modules (MU100020A/MU100021A/MU100022A/MU100023A) provides measurement of optical fibre lines for fault finding.
Additionally, users can improve the efficiency of on-site testing work through remote operation using Anritsu’s SORA Internet subscription service, as well as through the one-button automatic testing function for Pass/Fail evaluations at multiple tests.
