Efficient lighting control via Bluetooth
Even today, many offices around the world still work with obsolete lighting systems and outdated lighting control solutions. This not only means less lighting comfort for office, but also less energy efficiency – and therefore monthly power bills which are often a lot higher than they need to be. Many companies across a broad range of industries are well aware of the problem, but they still hesitate to take the appropriate measures and make things better for all involved. One of the main reasons for this reluctance, of course, is that modernizing office lighting systems can be expensive. Perhaps even more importantly, it also means that ongoing office work has to be interrupted or possibly shut down completely while the existing lighting system is being replaced by a modern installation. Mains-powered HubSense Qualified Bluetooth Mesh pushbutton coupler
After the conversion of the existing lighting control system to HubSense, the original cables from the conventional pushbuttons to the new HubSense luminaires no longer have any control function. This is where the mains-powered HubSense Qualified Bluetooth Mesh pushbutton coupler (QBM PB coupler) from OSRAM comes into play.
The QBM PB coupler can be easily installed underneath existing pushbuttons and thus integrated into the HubSense system. From this time on, the connection between the pushbutton and the luminaire works via Bluetooth mesh, and the pushbutton now has even more functional possibilities. The practical thing about this is that you don't have to open any walls or lay new cables – even if you want to regroup the luminaries or add new ones in the course of the modernization project.
Designed for installation in deep flush-mounted boxes, one HubSense QBM PB coupler supports up to four pushbuttons and also enables free selection of pushbutton frames. The device has a typical wireless range of 10 m and comes with a built-in reset button.
